Keyway Note: The cylinder is ''zero bitted'', which means it has no pins inside. The keys furnished are key blanks. We furnish cylinders this way because most customers have a Master Key system.
The exception is cylinders ordered in the L4 (standard) keyway. These cylinders come keyed random with 2 cut keys.
This model is the standard rim for Corbin Russwin's.
We stock the standard 6-pin version, but you can also special-order the 7-pin version. These come from the factory with a 4 week lead time (nothing comes quickly from the factory).
We stock the cylinder in 2 versions. If you order the L4 keyway (standard keyway) it is shipped with the cylinder pinned up and 2 cut keys. If you order any other keyway the cylinder is furnished with 2 keyblanks. You will need to add pins to the cylinder and cut the keys as the cylinder is ''zero bitted''. This is because it is being sold as a replacement cylinder and needs to be ''keyed'' to your application.
We can also key the cylinder at our warehouse for an additional charge.
Some of the keyways we stock are listed on the order form, but not all. You'll need to call to order a keyway if you don't see it listed as an ordering option above.
Keyways are very difficult to determine by looking at a picture.
Look on your key to see if the keyway may be stamped on it.
Even better, find some old paperwork that indicated the keyway you require.
It may be an old box of keyblanks that were ordered or even an order for some locks.
You can't guess at keyway so get some verification of your exact number before ordering.
